Vasant Pallavi, SF Wednesdays, July 2021
The city of San Francisco had reached out to Odissi Vilas to participate in an SF downtown revival program. We were elated to help out and spread cultural awareness about Odissi in the heart of downtown near the Ferry Building. Manasi, Maureen and I performed several items over a period of 2 hours on a Wednesday evening. We danced with the bright evening sun shining straight into our faces, and the concrete floor showing no mercy on our bare feet, all while being delighted to be showcasing our artform to the larger public in an open space.
This piece is Vasant Pallavi (describes the trees, the buds, the chirping happy birds and all the music that marks the beginning of a new season: Spring) by Maureen, Manasi and myself.
