Namagiri in ‘Partition’, 2017

When I chanced upon an opportunity to be part of a professional theatre group in a compelling role, I seized it with a zest that surprised even me. It was a huge learning experience to closely observe, and immerse myself in the world of theatre artists. I grew immense respect for my fellow actors who were committed to the arts purely for the love and joy of it. The play, titled Partition for the Partition Theory, was about Shrinivasa Ramanujan, a mathematical genius from India in the early 1900’s and his journey in Cambridge University. I played the role of the Hindu Goddess, Namagiri who bestowed mathematical discoveries to him in his dreams. I was an understudy for the role and was on stage the first 4 nights. The role was perfect for me to showcase my singing, dancing and acting skills.
