Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Festival, Alameda, May 2023

As part of the AAPI celebrations, our dance school, Odissi Vilas was invited to perform at the Bohol Immigrant Park event organized by Rhthymix Cultural Works. Leading up to the performance day, most of our practices happened on zoom. Interestingly, it was a one off time for us when earlier that day we had performed at the Himalayan Fair in Berkeley and darted off to Alameda for the second performance. Weather wise it was a dramatic day with the open space venue, the grey skies, container ships in the background and an audience filled mostly of young curious onlookers. My friend Shubhra Prakash was kind enough to record the performance and share it.
